Stanford students describe a suddenly skewed job market, where just a small slice of graduates — those considered “cracked engineers” who already have thick resumes building products and doing research — are getting the few good jobs, leaving everyone else to fight for scraps.

They graduated from Stanford. Due to AI, they can't find a job

It's been true for a while now that students need to do internships, co-op, and work-study programs as early as high school to get a competitive edge. Generally, those with no experience need 6 months to a year to develop and to familiarize themselves with developer tools customized by the company.
