Trump playing Chicken with China is nuts.

Maybe as he dies he wants to take us all along with him!

China and Russia are entrenched in Venezuela, with both countries developing everything from oil and gas to gold, and whatever they have both countries need.

China and Russia effectively own Venezuela!!

And they have long term contracts and thousands of people working there e.g. rehabilitating and drilling new oil wells, over 500 right now, ramping up production to 60,000 barrels a day of new oil, and China importing
about 900,000 a day overall.

So Trump wants to start a war with them? That is suicide, we not only can't beat China, we can't even afford to fight China.

China had a one trillion trade surplus and we had over a trillion dollar trade deficit, despite his tariffs.

This is so dangerous, and unnecessary. Trump says he wants to take back what Venezuela stole from our corporations, but doesn't say anything about what Putin stole from our corporations.

I don't see how we go for three more years of this confrontational brinksmanship with China and Russia without a war?

Right now, many oil tankers are lying out front of oil terminals afraid to load up. How long will China stand for that??

And all the while the Republicans sit on their hands and go along with this madness!

AI Overview

Yes, the U.S.
seized an oil tanker near Venezuela that was linked to China, part of a larger crackdown on sanctioned oil shipments, with Homeland Security confirming the capture of a vessel recently docked in Venezuela, escalating tensions and prompting Caracas to decry it as "theft". This is the second seizure in days, following a Trump-ordered blockade of sanctioned tankers, with U.S. forces intercepting the Panama-flagged Centuries, owned by a Chinese entity, enforcing sanctions against Venezuela's oil sector.
