re. Thomas's reasonings. His faith informed his Summa, but I don't know if he expected his Summa would bring someone else into faith from scratch. Perhaps he had hopes it might. I personally find value in his reasonings from what I've read of them.

But the Apostle Paul said he didn't want faith to be grounded in human wisdom. That's because what one man can construct another might deconstruct. Paul wanted faith to stand in the power of God. Peter put it another way, quoting from the Psalms, Taste and see that the Lord is good.

Taste in this context doesn't mean to just tentatively sample God (like merely intellectually) but to fully experience God. That's what the Gospel is about. It happened to both Paul and Peter and the others we read about in Scripture.

I and millions of others across millennia and cultures joined them. And because God is a Father, the shared experience makes it the largest family in existence.

Thomas had that kind of faith out of which he wrote his works.
