There certainly is. I saw it happen once on I20, many years ago. Guy in a pickup truck stuck in side the vehicle. Fire Department was just getting there but the man's body was still plainly visible through the driver's side window.

Gas powered vehicles, actually are vastly more likely to be involved in car fires, generally. However, Teslas are more likely to have serious accidents due to driver behavior and extreme acceleration. Poor crashworthiness is ruled out, as Teslas consistently receive very high marks in safety ratings in physical crash tests.

Definitely an increased risk of burning up in a car if one drives crazy, though...
