Chicago Bears up-to-date playoff scenarios

After clinching a playoff berth last weekend, the Bears (11-4) will win the NFC North if Green Bay (9-5-1) loses to Baltimore Saturday night at Lambeau Field. If the Packers win, the Bears would capture the division title with a victory over the 49ers Sunday night in San Francisco.

The only way the Bears would not win the NFC North is if they lose their final two games and Green Bay wins its last two contests. In Week 18, the Bears host the Lions and the Packers visit Minnesota.

With Detroit's 23-10 loss to the Vikings on Christmas, the Lions were eliminated from playoff contention and Green Bay clinched a postseason berth.

The Bears are currently the No. 2 seed in the NFC behind Seattle (12-3). They would move into the No. 1 spot this weekend with a win over the 49ers coupled with a Seattle loss at Carolina.

The Eagles (10-5) have won the NFC East and are currently the No. 3 seed. The Bears can clinch at least the No. 2 seed Sunday with a win over the 49ers or a Philadelphia loss at Buffalo. The Bears own the tiebreaker over Philadelphia by virtue of their 24-15 win on Nov. 28.

The No. 4 seed will go to the winner of the NFC South, either the Panthers (8-7) or Buccaneers (7-8).
