We are at a historical juncture when many important weapons are rapidly becoming obsolete.

Not long ago I watched one of the many movies about Napoleon. It kept me wondering - why would people march in tightly packed formations against defenders armed with rifles? It was kind of suicidal. Why not change tactics to something more scattered, evasive - to avoid that death march against firing squads.

Eventually this changed - but it took a long, long time.

Nowadays, people are more accustomed to change. Probably won’t take very long. With all that technology, armies will have to invent more ways of keeping their troops alive.
