Indeed. Fatherlessness is a huge problem. Potentially, fatal for a society.

Many decades of corrosive collectivist solutions to life’s problems has been very problematic - and, it created another major problem: government corruption at all levels. Every person knows it - and it’s very toxic to public morale. Diminution of the importance of nuclear family is related to this.

Just this year we missed a great historic opportunity - the DOGE. All it took was a little polite backlash from interested apparatchiks - and our good old Elon was back to his AI and space projects. He was raging for a while - but then settled down.

We even had the experience of having a guy with obvious cognitive problems serve as president.

I’m still optimistic. America is incredibly resourceful - and resilient. But, all this business with more and more people willing to “give socialism a chance” - is disturbing. The truth is, we have plenty of socialism. More than enough. But, our US-style socialism is very prone to corruption. Maybe because we are a wealthy country. There is more to steal.

Recent disclosures about the massive rip-offs of the taxpayers in Mn are a good illustration.
