Since army personnel are to be deployed overseas next year, they’ll be leaving their families, “mostly women and children, next door to 300 incoming migrants,” who are mostly illegal entrants from Africa and the Middle East.
Although Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp wrote to Muslim Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, expressing valid concerns about the safety of these families in the presence of the migrants (which was an understandable concern, given the horrors of housing these migrants in hotels), his pleas will likely fall on deaf ears.
The utter disrespect the UK government is showing for those who are putting their lives on the line to serve their country is sickening.
Under Shabana Mahmood’s watch, the UK has seen a record 10,000 illegal migrants cross the English Channel in the space of two months.

“Migrant crisis: Hundreds of migrant men move into barracks as fears raised over safety of British Army families,” by Ben McCaffrey, GB News, December 30, 2025:
Hundreds of small boat migrants are set to move into local army barracks in Scotland, as fears are raised over the British Army families that live next door.
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp has written a letter to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood expressing concerns over the Home Office’s use of Cameron Barracks in Inverness.
Army personnel who currently reside there are set to be deployed overseas next year, leaving their families, mostly women and children, next door to 300 incoming migrants.
According to The Daily Mail, the army barracks will be turned over by the Ministry of Defence to the Home Office on January 12.
While the families staying at the barracks have written to local councillors to express their concerns, Mr Philp has demanded the Government revoke plans to house illegal migrants there.
The concern comes in the wake of shocking sexual attacks by small boat migrants.
Recently, Rapualla Ahmadze, an asylum seeker from Afghanistan, was sentenced to nine years after raping a teenager in a Scottish park, while Jan Jahanzeb and Israr Niazal, both aged 17, pleaded guilty in October to the rape of a 15-year-old schoolgirl.
Earlier this month, Abdulmawal Ibrahim Adam was jailed for attempting to kidnap a 17-year-old girl as she was walking home from work at night.
In a letter to the Home Secretary, seen by Thope Mail, Mr Philp said: “We have seen cases in the news of illegal immigrants housed in hotels or ‘houses of multiple occupation’ committing abhorrent acts, including rape and other sexual offences.
