Interesting study from SubuTrade. It’s no surprise, really, that a trend tends to become more energetic after a consolidation.

BTW, Looking at his chart, you can see how SPX topped in the mid - 60’s (1966) - and remained in a range (forming something like a Broadening Triangle) - until the final bottom in October of 1974. (The DOW took longer to bottom). That was a horrible Bear - the market kept going up and down, while heavy inflation was eroding the value of the Dollar. Old timers who saw it will never forget it.
