| | | TRUMP SENDS STRONG MESSAGE TO CHINA’S XI JINPING AS CHINESE DELEGATION IS STILL IN VENEZUELA AFTER MEETINGS WITH MADURO TODAY
Just hours before US Airstrikes in Venezuela past midnight today, @NicolasMaduro met with a Chinese delegation led by Qiu Xiaoqi, China's Special Envoy/Special Representative for Latin American and Caribbean Affairs, representing President Xi Jinping.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties, reviewing over 600 existing agreements (in areas like energy, trade, and politics), and China reaffirming support for Maduro amid escalating U.S.-Venezuela tensions. Maduro expressed gratitude to Xi Jinping during the talks, which were also attended on the Venezuelan side by Vice President Delcy Rodríguez @delcyrodriguezv and Foreign Minister Yván Gil.
U.S. military actions against Venezuela began early on January 3, shortly after the meeting between Maduro and the Chinese officials concluded at Miraflores Palace in Caracas, where US airstrikes are occurring. Maduro posted this video 12 hours ago. China’s officials are reportedly still in Caracas.
