The US has access to Venezuelan oil now.
That's like saying a robber has "access" to your wallet.

If we really want access to the oil, we need to politically stabilize Venezuela and give protection assurances to our oil companies so that they can be incentivized to rebuild oil infrastructure there.

But first, you guys need to decide whether you really want to do that, or whether you'd settle for a mere "protection racket."
