I spent time in the Amerindo web site to find out more about these folks. Turns out that there are three prinipals--Misters Vila, Tanaka and Cechettini. They have over 75 years of investment experience between them along with interesting backgrounds, particularly Mr. Vilar. Their specialty seems to be emerging technologies where they like to pick a company that is perceived as the leader in the respective emerging field. They tend to hold a position
for 2-4 years . They tend to buy these emerging technologies as they are ramping up with the expectation of 50-100% growth.Interestingly they mention that the need for bandwidth doubles every 4 months. For a more in depth look into this group go to their website--www.amerindo.com.They currently manage over $2 1/2B in assets.
