"Total control"--what does that mean? Put people in the street in jail? Force people off of Danish laws and benefits and onto the poor US security net? Are they going give the people in Greenland Congressional representation? Two senators and a Congress Critter? Or treat them as second class citizens? Are they going to force Greenlanders to accept being "part of the US", whatever that might mean?
My reference to "Total Control" was in the context of military safety for the hemisphere. The greatest single interest, above all others combined, is that we need to product the United States, which a president who believes there is a potential threat should carry out.

Trump is prepared to make Greenland an "answer they don't refuse" because we need it to protect our interests and are willing to protect their interests as well as ours in order that we get what we need. It poses no downside to them.

Pending details, it sounds like a reasonable idea to me.
