The fact of the matter is they left before forensics arrived. Now you might say that means something different than the facts show, but I can't really help that.

Even if there is a formal charge of misconduct, you are very likely to do what you have done in the past, which is claim they were a victim of bias.
Who is "they"?

I think you still don't grasp the situation.
