Fair enough, CJ, but the libertarian perspective is this:

High credit card debt, combined with high credit card interest rates, are symptoms of a deeper problem. And that is too much borrowing to make up for an affordability crisis. And despite every attempt by the Orange Dumbass to change reality, the affordability crisis is real.

Trump may try and deal with the crisis by tossing bones to his rabid supporters such as "no tax on tips" or "no tax on overtime" or the cap on credit card interest rates.

But we libertarians realize that every act of short-term intervention always has unintended consequences. If the core problems aren't addressed, then Trump will simply be pushing off the problem to his successor.
