I got the idea that the Quantum Computing deal for Luminar assets was more down the line of acquiring optical semiconductor expertise rather than anything IP related. Folks like that are likely in short supply and moving from lidar laser chips to silicon photonics might not be all that big of a stretch. Patents as to photonics on silicon might have been part of it but little has been promoted about that side of the deal. Oh I see there was a 2nd bid on the assets you noted. This sounds like a good will gesture by QCI folks as one may expect to happen between related(?) parties. fwiw share.google ps Austin Russel always struck me as a character of distinction.
