You harp on this, as if it matters.

It is true that LEOs are trained not to stand in front or behind vehicles, generally. But there is no single universal national standard. Training varies by agency, state, or federal entity.

Speaking of training, do you know that drivers are trained not to drive a car at a pedestrian or a LEO standing in front of the car?

Also, drivers are trained not to flee an officer who has ordered you to exit the vehicle.

That said, you are right that it wasn't very smart of the officer to stand in front of an obviously deranged driver
