--How many gender identities--

my graduate level study (admittedly a couple decades ago) included human development and gender.
so, i was surprised by the flexible gender splash a few years ago and looked for the research
supporting the expansion of gender identity, beyond one's biological sex. ultimately, what
i found was legal argument based on questionable evidence that attempted to erase the scientific
connection of biological sex to gender.

to be clear, i completely support an adult's right to chose and express gender however they want.
in relation to children, the topic is much more complicated and rhetoric/fad should not override
rational decision-making.

as for how many gender identities... at this point it's unclear what such a question means, due
to the current languaging in play. as far as i'm concerned, adults are free to choose.
how many in your opinion?
