Last I heard, ARM, no matter which part of ARM we're referring to, has no license to use QCOM IP for power management or modems or RFEE. The QCOM reference designs for OEM's are highly competitive and not affected by current competition from Mediatek, Samsung, or China based chip manufacturers. The "last ditch effort to kill the case" mentioned in your post, is probably just that – an attempt to use a technical issue to dispose of a case involving standard essential patents, many of which are owned by Qualcomm. Remember that it takes only one patent and one claim on practice of that patent to create a viable patent infringement case. Son should have taken a more FRANDly view and invested some of his assets in Qualcomm. Art
