I got the measles & mumps in my childhood years.

I also got the chicken pox.

When I joined the military, yes I was required to get a batch of shots. Those that brought their shot records with them, the Drill Sgt's just laughed. They got the shots just like everyone else. There was some that had reactions.

Luckily I signed up on 12/10/1975, while at the reception station after we got all processed in, they sent us home for the Christmas Holidays, they gave us all of our shots the day we boarded the bus. I traveled 3 days on Greyhound from Fort Jackson S.C. to Sacramento Calif, sicker than a dog!

Yes, I had to get the flu shot every year for 21 years. I usually was down with the flu for a week.

Since I retired 28 years ago, I have never gotten the flu shot and I have not had the flu.

Lots of people have died from these shots.
