On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stock index crashed 870 points, the biggest drop since October.

The mainstream media predictably blamed President Donald Trump’s threat of tariffs over Greenland, but they were wrong.

What caused the bloodbath was Japan.

Japan is the Big Risk for 2026
- Rapid Japanese government bond (JGB) pressing the JPY down and driving gold up
- Ramifications are worrying and Bessent on Tuesday has already urged Japan to address bond market volatility
- Japanese PM Takaichi -who faces an election in 2 weeks) has announced a plan to suspend the consumption tax on food items for two years. She is, basically, saying: "Screw the economy ! I just want to win this election."
