"he also sounds a bit unclear and cautious on Los Azules monetary issues."

yes,
personally, since they're going to need 3-4 billion to develop it, I'm reassured he's cautious. I've been watching most of his interviews for more than ten years and learned to groan when he inevitably predicted 5k gold..as it usually preceded a serious setback of some kind. which is why I winced a bit when he talked about matching bhp's market cap.

3 things that especially got my attention.

-- NPV at current copper price has more than doubled since October...meaning back of envelope valuation of mux's McEwen copper stake is now worth over $50 per share, on paper...withg each 10% rise in the copper price translating to about an additional $8.
-- He's seriously considering rolling McEwen copper back into mux.
-- In longer term, he'd really like to see a financially healthy mux become an aggregator of small explorer/delopers going forward. if anyone is familiar with Cisco systems of 2000 they understand his comments on John chambers could be the most significant thing he said in interview imho.

trying to be cautious myself based on past experience...but very encouraging. but as they will need to finance this year, likely in first half, we shall see.
