perhaps the value of the LMDS spectrum is diminished by the maturity of the fiber plant in the license's market. SF and Silicon Valley may have tons of fiber already installed.

re: LMDS degrading in rainy weather... i live in Seattle and my Internet connection is via 2.4Ghz link. it's withstood the worst weather (heavy rain, snow, ice, high winds) with no service loss or degradation. is the problem exaggerated or does it only show up at higher frequencies?
