On the Giza Plateau, there is a stretch near the Great Causeway where multiple deep shafts are cut straight down into the bedrock, and some appear to have side openings leading off into tunnels. The most unsettling detail is that several show signs of having been capped or sealed in the past, with mortar traces and inset edges suggesting a missing superstructure. One shaft even shows water at the bottom, raising questions about how deep these levels truly go.
