<<Do you worry that Spiros albuterol is nothing more than a generic drug in a fancy package>>
No the dry powder system is much more than a generic drug in a fancy package. It is easier to use, reduces the risk of microbial contamination, gives a much more accurate dose and most importanly requires almost 50% less drug to be taken. As a parent with a child that has moderate asthma this is very important. Indeed I think their second product which is the Spiros version of Beclomethasome may be bigger than Albuterol because of the desire to deliver as small a possible dose of a steriod. Beclomethasome has been shown to cause some adverse effects on growth in children so the smaller more accurate dose is important.
I don't know a lot about the other companies you mentioned although I theoght KOS was years away from an NDA.
