Dig it: Volvo is offering 0% interest financing on EC230 Electric excavator

The groundbreaking EC230 Electric excavator has spent the last few years proving its worth on job sites around the world – now, Volvo is making it easier than ever to help it prove itself on your job site with an aggressive 0% financing deal.

Global heavy equipment sales last peaked in 2021 with 1.36 million units sold, but every year since has seen slow, but steady declines, with growth in China keeping things from looking really dire. Part of that decline has been driven uncertainty in terms of regional emissions regulations, logistical headaches, and chip shortages – but another part has undoubtedly been the high cost of money in recent years, and that’s what Volvo Financial Services’ latest round of incentive offerings is hoping to address.

To that end, Volvo CE is offering aggressive 0% financing deals to qualifying buyers for up to 48 months on 2025 model year excavators like the 20-ton, battery-powered EC230 Electric that we’ve been writing about for years.

It doesn’t stop there

In addition to the free money deal, Volvo CE customers can up to $3,000 in Smart Commercial Account credits when they bundle the excavator with other equipment or services.

The deal appears to be nationwide through the end of January, at least, and – while we’re most interested in the EC230 Electric, EC250, EC370, EC380, and EC400 Hybrid electric model excavators here at Electrek – the deal technically applies to all new 2025 Volvo crawler and wheeled excavators, with the exception of the supermassive, 100-ton EC950F.

Volvo is also advertising a $1,000/mo. 24-month lease on any new Volvo electric compact excavator, also eligible for bundling and stackable with other incentives, tax credits, and offers. Check with your local equipment dealer for details and eligibility.

Electrek’s Take

Granted, this is a bit of a weird post, since it highlights a single financing deal from a single equipment brand. That said, Electrek regularly covers manufacturer-specific lease deals, discounts, and 0% financing offers — all in the interest of giving casual readers useful information that might help make their next vehicle an EV. And if that thinking can help you or your friends and neighbors into an EV, here’s hoping it can help your local construction crew or municipal fleet buyer to consider an electric equipment upgrade, too.

That’s my take, anyway. Let me know what you think about the efficacy of highlighting deals like this to commercial fleet buyers in the comments.
