Studies have shown that rain has little effect
on LMDS service under LOS conditions. However,
for service which relies on a non-LOS path
(such as a bounce off building walls), there
appears to be an effect. The solution is to
rely on reflectors. For digital LMDS service,
I would expect that rain has even less of an effect,
due to the ability to use error correction schemes.
So your assessment that weather does not have much
of an effect is absolutely correct. On the other
hand, foliage is a major problem.
