Sorry to say but factual reporting does not always hold the attention of many. But partisans like to watch
pundits slug it out.

As an old reporter friend used to occasionally tell interviewees... keep it simple, they don't call it the
boob tube for nothing. That said a bunch of people sitting around filling air time is much cheaper than
sending news crews out in the field..
CNN once upon a time had the most reporters and photographers covering the whole world, the
most of any channel. But that was back in the Ted Turner days. They didn't have much competition on
cable then.
