| | | A day after 14 European nations announced that the Baltic Sea will be closed to the cancer of Russia's shadow fleet tankers, Russian bloggers call out Kremlin weakness in not offering any resistance as America, France and UK continue seizing tankers almost daily.
"We've finally seen it: the West is imposing a blockade on our trade routes in the Baltic Sea.
Fourteen European countries, led by Britain, have taken a step bordering on declaring naval war on Russia by declaring their intention to close the Baltic Sea to the so-called Russian "shadow fleet".
According to a joint statement issued by the governments of the United Kingdom, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and Sweden, any tankers suspected of concealing their origin—for example, by changing flags, turning off transponders, or operating without the necessary documentation—will be declared stateless by vessels. This measure removes legal barriers to their detention.
Such a collective demarche is not just a sanction, but an ultimatum with direct military consequences, effectively legitimizing an act of military-economic blockade in a strategically important region.
