Almost two years ago, I talked about "cheap Chinese EVs" and how the Democrats were against opening up the U.S. market to them ...

Tenchu's Thoughts: Cheap Chinese EVs

Now we have Joanna Stern, the tech editor of the WSJ, singing the praises of China's EVs:

I Test Drove a Chinese EV. Now I Don’t Want to Buy American Cars Anymore. (WSJ, paywalled)

See what happens when we raise protectionist barriers? American-made cars become more expensive and lower quality, while cars made by our "enemy" (or as MAGA cultists like to say, "CHY-NAH") become better and better.

And don't think this is just a MAGA thing, either. Democrats also believe in protectionism. Democrats also believe that tariffs are going to hurt our foreign adversaries.

It's really sad, too, especially here in California where we were supposed to lead the world in terms of EV adoption. Can't do that if we're forced to buy nothing but Muskwagens.
