To my way of thinking, someone with limited cash but looking to speculate for big returns (as he has stated he is), is at least ten times better off buying call options on a good stock than they are buying those stupid penny stocks. You suggested options like they're a joke. I think he should understand them and look into them. I'd say that's his best play if he wants to speculate with $500. Steve
