Good points about IoT. It's always been a catch all category.

I do believe it's now been raised to a higher priority but even getting traction with such a broad set of product offerings is going to be challenging. I believe leadership here was mostly by product category and other than giving it an overall umbrella that hasn't changed. A third of it seems dependent upon Microsoft, a third upon Google/Amazon and the last third carrier type outfits.

Is better channel mgt what's missing? They've been messing with JV's on these fronts going back to nPhase.

What is normal IoT?

How are IoT products best distributed?

They have been at these games for a long time and explored many more avenues of distribution than been talked about here. Honeywell for instance.

The whole IoT field (consumer or industrial) is a real mixed bag. Divide and conquer with a Platform approach is what's new. If you can come up with some better idears, I'm sure Qualcomm would be more than interested in hearing them.

Do you know of others who have been successful in IoT?

I always thought Qualcomm and Cisco would make a great pairing but in that case they'd be competing against many of their existing customer channels.

Being a supplier to giants is never easy.
