Ed Dowd thinks that our stock market returns over the next 10 years would be equal zero. Anything’s possible - but the annual subsidy of $1,5 - 2 Trillion, which we are paying ourselves in the form of deficit spending - suggests otherwise. Most of those funds go through the system, and end up getting invested. Where else can those dollars go? Yes, they’re made of thin air - but, once they come into existence and end up in the hands of their final recipients - they are 100% real - and will need to be invested.
