jim, I think you have to consider a few things as you read that press release.

(1) Ira says the contract with HART will NOT be "considered incremental to CAMPs fiscal 97 growth (was CAMP expecting BIGGER order? I'd bet on it!)

(2) "majority of order EXPECTED to be completed with the POSSIBILITY of follow on orders" (very ambiguous wording don't you think?)

(3) Heartland has been in bed with CAMP for quite some time, so it's not like they got a BRAND-NEW alliance/customer.

(4) If this was some BIG deal > Why is CAMPs price still in a downtrend?

(5) Why hasn't CAMP rehired all the folks they layed off in mid-summer? (as I remember they were all from production. If this was a BIG deal they would need those people for a ramp-up in Multichipher.)

(6) I was listening to Robbie Stevens portfolio manager today on CNBC. They have a 250% portfolio turnover rate AND THE YEAR'S NOT EVEN OVER YET. (any wonder CAMP has been so volatile?) CAMP "was" a great momentum-players stock, but it has lost it's momentum.

Multichipher is/was in trouble. CAMP had "counted on" Multichipher as becoming the new "standard" for the cable market. Instead, it has been plagued with problems, rolled out late and in the meantime some very formidable competion has eaten CAMPs lunch.

Hughes, Thomson, C-CUBE/Divicom, VLSI etc, have all come out with set-top boxes/products that are more focused on where Televisions' future is headed.
CAMP has blown it in the ku-band, digital market. The Grand Alliance is finally getting their act together > we have the proverbial 900 lb gorilla ready to rampage and meanwhile CAMP has slipped on a banana peel.

Tip of the day-CAMP has fallen and they can't get up.
