David, the bill in Congress is to ban state taxes on Internet commerce I think. In any case, that was at best an excuse for the stocks to tick up this morning. AMZN (and probably YHOO too) looks like the mother of all short squeezes. There must have been tons of buy stops at $69 or just above. Tuesday had a similar sharp break upward from about $65 I think, just above the October closing high.

The volume this week in AMZN is over 3mm shares already. Can all the shorts cover in one week?

BTW, can anyone confirm whether true insiders, i.e. officers and directors, are really prohibited from trading during the last month of the qtr and until the next earnings report. I've heard this many times, but always with a "as I understand it" or "I've heard somewhere". Was just wondering. A squeeze right at the end of the selling window would be a mighty coincidence considering the 20 Form 144s on AMZN this month.

Bob
