Fuchi,
re: >>You are a funny man. You have been asking our helps on Motherboards, then, selected the boards none of us recommended. <<

Well i wasn;t trying to be funny. ;-) And i haven't "selected" this one yet, just curious.

Seriously, i thought the original txpro chipset was made by ali alladin. When i saw this reference in the Sybercom webpage: "TXPro II chipset With Socket 7", i assumed it was also made by ali alladin. Since I hadn't heard about ali alladin making a chipset with built in VGA, I was wondering if they had something new out. I didn't suspect it would be the SIS 5598.

Since you are so knowledgeable about chipsets i thought you could provide insight into this one. And not surprisingly, you did!

However, I am surprised that the TXPro name would be applied to chipsets from 2 different mfrs. Isn't TXPro trademarked? or has it always been a generic term for chipsets that are similar to the Intel TX chipset?

thanks again,
steve h

p.s. w/o 83 MHz, this board is not for me. I prefer your other recommendations like the asus-sp97 and am very interested in the Mtech 581A
