I know CPQ should be driving DEC stock, but why doesn't the chart agree? DEC has looked tired (a look we know all too well) lately and terrible relative to the market. Yesterday, someone dumped 1/4 of a million shares late in the day. This morning CPQ gets downgraded. Is this another of those periods when DEC's earnings are written off before DEC takes a write off? Or one where DEC surprises on the upside?
It looks like the word is that DEC will miss, big. That wouldn't shock me much, except that someone could tell so early! DEC's earnings have been notoriously hard to predict. Even when the quarter closes, earnings still can't be predicted most of the time.
Throw in CPQ's earnings (that channel stuffing stuff has to be overblown) and this is worse than a crap shoot.
But the fundementals remain strong. CPQ should be able to turn DEC into a money maker. In the long run this quarter won't matter. Unless we get a chance to load up on CPQ at 25....
Don't miss the next run-up. And don't fall asleep waiting.
