Stan: The following is a list of books that I recommend for opening the door to tea leaf reading:

1. Technical Analysis of Stock Trends (R. Edwards & J. Magee)
2. The Momentum Gap Method (L. Miller)

#1 is a must reading for serious technician. #2 allows you to identify the can't miss situation using break-away gaps (like VIAS in August).

Word of warning: you may have to perform a cold IPL(initial program load) or system reset before attempting tea leaf reading. In another word, throw out Investment 101, Economics 101, Forbes, Business Week, Wall Street Journal and all other fundamental stuff first to cleanse your mind. Then proceed with caution in the world of price, volume, cycles, Fibonacci numbers, Elliott wave and others.
