But you're not answering the question; If you had $500 and wanted to play (emphasize play) the market, which would you play, options on quality stocks (say Microsoft) or penny stocks. This kid is playing penny stocks with his $500. I say the odds would be much more in his favor to play the options.

I just thought your answer "I am surprised noone suggested he buy some deep out of the money calls. (JUST KIDDING)" was kind of blowing off options.

Obviously one must understand the mechanics, the risk/reward, etc, but that wasn't the question.
