Re: staying long. Friday is record day for the Dell split. If I was to sell out on Monday am, would I get shares on next Friday's split day? Never been in this happy situation before. No. If you have your shares on the 6th, you will have twice as many on the 9th. If you sell your shares on Monday the 2d, you will have zero shares on the 9th. Can anyone explain why there is a record date when DELL pays no dividends? What is its function? DELLish, 3.
