Arnie, as usual when it comes to accounting, I'm confused. The original press release said "Of the total settlement amount, Foodmaker is expected to realize a net of slightly over $30 million after taxes and litigation costs." Yes, settlement costs have already been paid out to the poisoning victims with insurance claims, but I believe they're saying that litigation costs for the Vons suit still need to be deducted from the award.

On another note, although the news about the settlement is positive, could it not be slightly offset by bringing up the subject of the past food poisonings AGAIN? Remember, everytime there has been a mention of food poisonings from beef, FM has been hit, even most recently when they were not remotely involved. I think it just brings up worries and bad feelings that might affect some investors. Could this not account somewhat for the disappointing stock reaction to the good news? That and the charge they announced could be putting a damper on our move up past $20. What do you think?
