For the most part, this statement is true. Apogee, though, has won industry awards for marketing innovations, and we're widely regarded as one of the best run developers in the business. We've been around for 11 years, which is an eternity in this industry, considering how quickly the computer industry changes and evolves, leaving most companies in the dust.
On the personal front, I'm one of only four people who have received the shareware industry's Lifetime Achievement Award for my marketing and business innovations, and I was on two recent lists by top computer magazines that recognized the game industry's leaders ("The 15 Most Influential People in Gaming" and "The American Game Industry's Most Important People"). This doesn't happen by being a bad business manager. Especially a business that worth over $50 million and rising quickly (and was started without outside funding of any sort). So, if your remark was aimed at Apogee, I'm afraid it doesn't hold water.
