Chris,
First, I do not own shares nor am I short NCD. With that said, what I don't like about distributors, channlers etc., is that no one needs to take responsibility for lack of sales.
Access to customers is great, but only if someone is taking the initiative to sell the product. Clearly, looking at revenues over the last year, the distributors are not pushing the product. In the CEO's own words a quarter or two ago, "no large orders are coming in". Shouldn't someone take big steps to change that?
Someone at NCD needs to answer to the shareholders regarding growth of the business revenues. Their answer to this point has been to emphasize channel re-sellers,distributors, and alliances. I would like to see more emphasis on internal marketing & sales before I buy in. In short, why ask someone else to do something that you can probably do better yourself? By not waiting until growth warrants such channel resellers, it indicates to me a lack of enthusiasm and initiative at NCD.
I would really like to own this Co. long term. I respect Doug and the loyalty of Mark, Jim and others on the thread. But, I just can't agree on management policy of hiring outside help to initiate sales. Maybe someday I'll see the value of the re-sellers, but to this point I'm not impressed.
