why? It is true that amd needs help and it is true that fab25 is unlikely to produce 65M/year as Paul indicated but.....
The deal starts in 3q/98 and for 2 years so it is probably going to cover k7 as well. Meanwhile amd is getting if not $$$ amount from ibm but at least credit which would worth for amd a lot.
Where are the conclusions about 3nd rated fabs are coming from? IBM would be producing k6+3d and I would think that they would want some yields from it too. And why not copper since power pc is shrinking?
