Dear Arrow Head - thx for the information. Yes, Y2K is a messy situation. I don't know the FAA and related systems well enough. The reason I mentioned TFP is that I doubt Air Travel Control was using off the shelf OS. So, it is not necessarily TPF per se but to recognize the likelihood that it is specialized hardwares/softwares. If it were off the shelf, then presumbly the Y2K compliant version of MVS [current release 5.2.2] should have all the PTFs necessary to rectify the microcodes. Even so, it is a lot more difficult than it sounds. For instance, there are several ways to access the system date/clock, therefore, patches ve to cover all exits etc. Of course, it also depends on the application layer.
Back to ISLI, right now, Y2K tool peddlers are not in vogue. Personally, I hold a dim view of the silver bullet approach after sitting thru a couple of presentations by VIAS and PTUS. If ISLI can get a womb-to-tomb type of contract, tools and human resourses all included, then it may be a different story.
Again, thx
