Paul, Leave it to you to find some Intel serving comments from crippled analysts. What better way to ramp volume than to farm out some production? I do not see it as a throwing in of the towel, but a move to make many of a proven design, IBM has as good a fab as Intel, even better some say, and the K6-7 s which when done in copper will allow the processor to get to the 400-500 MHZ area easily.
What better way to add a few more nails to the slot 1 coffin, than to have IBM hammer in a few?
