The company's subsidiary, Pyng Medical Corp, has received vital additional
patent protection from the US Patent Office for the FAST 1 Intraosseous
Infusion System. The coverage is in addition to patents and trademarks
already owned by Pyng Medical on Intraosseous Infusion.
The US patent which will be submitted to the International Patent Treaty
Organization, provides additional major protection on the FAST 1 System
from direct market competition for 17 years.
The additional patent protection covers the latest improvements to the
fundamental aspects of the FAST 1 System with particular regard to the
placement of a subcutaneous bone portal at a controlled depth and a
flexible infusion system to prevent dislodgment of the infusion line. Depth
control is not present in any other intraosseous infusion device and the
FAST 1 System is the only FDA-approved Intraosseous Infusion System for
Sternal Access on the market.
The broad patent coverage that Pyng Medical has in place provides long term
protection from competition on the FAST 1 System as well as enhancing the
intellectual property owned and controlled by Pyng Medical Corp. Patent
protection not only will provide increased value for Pyng Medical but will
also protect future markets in which Pyng will develop derivative and
related products.
