'The media is a sleeping watchdog on Y2K Alan Greenspan's testimony to the US Senate Banking Committee that includes some words about Y2K has gone unreported by the US online media. Of the following newspapers, not one carries the story today in its business section. Boston Globe Washington Post Miami Herald LA Times Seattle Times Chicago Tribune Nando Times (Raleigh) Dallas Morning News USA today is one high-profile news organization that did report it and there may be others. But I would consider the list above to be a good sampling of major newspapers We all know that Greenspan's testimony can make Wall Street tremble; we saw that happen last year. But apparently this isn't the issue for these papers. I'm not sure what happened here, the Washington Post and the Seattle Times, to name only two, are papers that I would describe as Y2K-aware, but they missed on this one. I guess they would rather run stories about Bill & Monica.
