TR, when the analyst said "Dell is leveraging the direct model to take advantage of component cost declines more effectively than its peers, effectively widening the price gap between indirect/direct and creating incremental opportunity for Dell near-term." what she meant was:

1. By relying on the best inventory control in the business, Dell takes better advantage of falling component prices than its competitors.

2. By eliminating resellers Dell enhances its profits by keeping the resellers' profits and decreasing handling costs.

Those of us who have been invested in Dell and studied the fundamentals of this company have known this stuff all along. Like we've been saying, the value that Dell brings to the table is the manufacturing and selling process, not the technology of the product. Maybe we should get the analysts' salaries.

Regards,

Paul
