Don't get too excited with IBM ME.

IBM is a strategy play in x86 market. Their main interest is to maintain certain competition while milks Intel competitors to the utmost. If you look at what happened to IBM's fabless partners, NexGen, Cyrix (and the current AMD), you would get the full picture.

What fab partners AMD needs now are the professional foundry partners, like UMC, TSMC, NEC or Samsung. BTW, the stock price of UMC has been up almost 20% since last week. Wondering if there is anything going between these two old-time partners?
